Information Open House July 19 for Fremont Southeast Beltway
The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) will hold a public information open house meeting regarding the development of the Fremont Southeast Beltway project in Dodge County. The meeting will be held at the Johnson Crossing Academic Center, 200 Johnson Road, Fremont, Nebraska on Thursday, July 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The proposed project is a new four-lane divided expressway on the south side of Fremont, Nebraska in Dodge County. The length of the proposed alternative is approximately 3.2 miles. The purpose of the project is to improve traffic flow and safety on U.S. Highway 77 (US-77) via a high-speed beltway around the southeast side of Fremont. The beltway would improve local
access and mobility and the regional connectivity between US-77, U.S. Highway 275 (US-275), and U.S. Highway 30 (US-30).
The project would also improve safety and reduce traffic congestion in the residential and downtown areas of Fremont, facilitating future economic growth in the area. The project is needed to address increased travel demands on the area’s transportation network, and challenges associated with heavy truck traffic through Fremont.
The public information open house meeting is being held to provide information regarding the project, currently in the design phase, and to receive the public’s input. Personnel from NDOT will be present to answer questions and receive comments.
Information regarding the proposed project will be made available on the NDOT website. Click on the “Fremont Southeast Beltway” link at http://dot.nebraska.gov/projects/future-projects/.
